Tutorial for Penciled get well card

October 7, 2022

Today’s tutorial is for a Penciled get well card. Here we are using one of the plain (rather than floral) patterns and adding coloured sentiments to create a brighter background layer. I love to use bright colours for a get well card as they seem so cheery.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the Penciled get well card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

Start with an A6 portrait card of Basic Black. Mat with Tahitian Tide card. Cut a card front layer of the striped pattern of Perfectly Penciled DSP. Using Tahitian Tide ink, stamp the get well sentiment from the Ringed With Nature set in the centre of the DSP. Work outwards and up and down using the same sentiment but alternating with Sweet Sorbet and Parakeet Party inks as well (see video). Adhere the stamped DSP direct to the card front. Using Sweet Sorbet ink, stamp the sentiment again onto a skinny strip of Basic White card. Mat onto Basic Black card the same width as the Tahitian Tide card layer and pop the sentiment up on the card front with dimensionals. Finish with 2022-2024 In Color Matte Decorative Dots.

Here’s a short video suggesting a few different ways to colour black and white DSP, including the stamping technique used above. Please subscribe to my Youtube channel to see my quick cards and quick tips each week.

On the Basic White insert, using Tahitian Tide ink, stamp another sentiment from the Ringed With Nature set. Add the small leaf spray (with flower centres) from the same set in the bottom right corner with Parakeet Party ink. Stamp the flowers over the top with Sweet Sorbet ink.

Thanks for stopping by.
