Tutorial for simple Snowflake card

October 26, 2022

Today’s tutorial is for a simple Snowflake card. This time we’re using a bold flocked snowflake pattern and shades of a single colour.

I’ve opted for purple shades for this card but you could easily opt for shades of blue, pink or whatever your favourite colour is. A darker shade directly behind the vellum shows the flocking to best effect. Step up the card if you wish, with rhinestones or other gems in the centre of the snowflakes.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the simple Snowflake card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

Start with an A6 portrait card of Highland Heather. Mat with a card front layer (3-7/8″ x 5-1/2″) of Gorgeous Grape card and then a layer (3-5/8″ x 5-1/4″) of Snowflake Specialty Vellum. Using Gorgeous Grape ink, stamp a sentiment from the Brightest Glow set onto a strip of Basic White card. Mat onto a strip of Gorgeous Grape card. Pop the sentiment up at the base of the card with dimensionals.

For this card the vellum was adhered by using tiny spots of Multipurpose Liquid Glue behind the flocked design. The flocking does a fair job of hiding the adhesive but you can still see a little shadow where it is.

On the Basic White insert, using Gorgeous Grape ink, stamp another sentiment from the Brightest Glow stamp set. Add the little group of stars/snowflakes from the Christmas Lights stamp set in the corners of the insert and the sentiment with more Gorgeous Grape ink.

Thanks for stopping by.
