Tutorial for Santa window card

November 25, 2022

Today’s tutorial is for a Santa window card. Dies are used to step up the preprinted card by adding a window. Any nesting dies would work, as would some punches.

The preprinted card is from the Santa Express Memories & More Cards & Envelopes. This pack includes 20 card bases and 20 envelopes. 10 of each have a Poppy Parade/spotted colour base and the other 10 have a splashed/plain Shaded Spruce colour base.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the Santa window card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

Start with a preprinted card from the Santa Express Memories & More Cards & Envelopes. Using a Stitched Rectangle die, die cut a window in the front of the card. Ensure that the card is fully open so that you don’t cut through both the front and back of the card. Tie a bow of Gold Shimmer Ribbon and attache to the front of the card with a Mini Glue Dot.

Use the Stitched Rectangle dies again to die cut layers from Basic White card and from Brushed Metallic card. Stamp the penguin from the Penguin Place set onto the white layer using Memento Black ink. Add a sentiment below with the same ink and same stamp set. Using Crushed Curry ink stamp the beak and feet onto the penguin. Add a bow tie with Shaded Spruce ink to finish. Adhere the stamped layer direct to the Brushed Gold layer. Pop the layers up on dimensionals, placing them through the window onto the inside back of the card.
