Tutorial for quick heart pearls friendship card

December 19, 2022

Today’s tutorial is for a quick heart pearls friendship card. This project includes a sneak peek of of the Country Floral Lane DSP that we have coming up for you in January. Some projects between now and 5 January may only include one sneak peek, others may have more, so please stop by regularly to check.

Each week over on my Facebook page (please pop over and Like or Follow) I choose a product pick of the week to feature. This week, it’s the Heart Pearls. These are available now, from the Annual Catalogue and each pack includes 180 adhesive-backed hearts. They are supplied in 3 colours and 2 sizes.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the quick heart pearls friendship card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own (with the exception of the Country Floral Lane DSP which will be available from 5 January).

Start with an A6 landscape card of Sweet Sorbet. Cut a card front layer (5-1/2″ x 3-7/8″) of Mint Macaron card and adhere centrally, direct to the card front. Cut two patterns of the next layer (5-1/4″ x 3-5/8″) of Country Floral Lane DSP. With the long edge at the top, trim each at 1-1/4″ (this will give two card fronts). Mix and match the stripes and hearts patterns, adhering centrally, direct to the card front. Cut a (5/16″ x 3-5/8″) strip of 2022-2024 In Color Glimmer Paper (Sweet Sorbet) and adhere over the join in the DSP.

Using Sweet Sorbet ink, stamp a sentiment from the Bamboo Beauty set onto a rectangle (1″ x 2-1/2″) of Basic White card. Mat onto (1-1/4″ x 2-3/4″) Sweet Sorbet card and then onto (1-1/2″ x 3″) Mint Macaron card. Pop the sentiment up on dimensionals on the card front. Finish with a trio of Heart Pearls, using them to cover the teeny hearts in the DSP pattern.

Here’s a short video showing how this quick card comes together. Please subscribe to my Youtube channel to see my quick cards and quick tips each week.

On the Basic White insert, using Sweet Sorbet ink, stamp another sentiment from the Bamboo Beauty set. Stamp bamboo images from the set on the left and fight edges using Mint Macaron ink.
