Today’s tutorial is for a quick vellum basics congrats card. Here the vellum is use to “tone down” the bright background (though I cut it down so that I still had enough of the true bright colours that I wanted)!

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the quick vellum basics congrats card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

Colour Combo

This colour combo mixes Pretty Peacock, Lemon Lime Twist and Berry Burst. The DSP actually has a much wider range of colours but I’ve picked out those that catch the eye most for this combo for you.

Start with an A6 portrait card of Pretty Peacock. Adhere a (3-7/8″ x 5-1/2″) card front layer of Bright & Beautiful DSP. Cut a (1-1/2″ x 2″) Basic White sentiment label. Using Pretty Peacock ink, stamp a sentiment from the Charming Sentiments set onto the label. Mat onto (1-3/4″ x 2-1/4″) Pretty Peacock card. Cut a (2-7/8″ x 4-1/2″) panel of Vellum Basics Specialty DSP. Adhere to the card front using adhesive behind where the sentiment label will be (see video). Pop the label up (over the adhesive) with dimensionals.

On the Basic White insert, using Pretty Peacock ink, stamp another sentiment from the Charming Sentiments stamp set. Add a border of Bright & Beautiful DSP across the base.
