Today’s tutorial is for a quick One Horse Open Sleigh Christmas card. The One Horse Open Sleigh DSP does all the hard work, with just some pretty ribbon and a simple sentiment label to finish it off.

Each week over on my Facebook page (please pop over and Like or Follow) I choose a product pick of the week to feature. This week, it’s the One Horse Open Sleigh DSP. This is a pack of 6″ x 6″ designs with a total of 48 sheets – 4 each of 12 double-sided patterns. They have a winter scene on one side and on the other simple background patterns. The DSP can be bought separately or as part of an Online Exclusive collection that also includes a bundle of stamps and dies and some pretty snowflake embellishments. I’ll have tutorials for you this week, that share different ideas for using these papers.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the quick One Horse Open Sleigh Christmas card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

Colour Combo

This colour combo mixes Early Espresso, Misty Moonlight and Lemon Lolly.

Quick One Horse Open Sleigh Christmas card

Start with an A6 landscape (tent fold) card of Early Espresso. Cut a (5-1/2″ x 3-7/8″) card front layer of One Horse Open Sleigh DSP, choosing the which part of the scene you wish to feature (see video). Adhere this direct to a (5-5/8″ x 4″) card front layer of Lemon Lolly card. Wrap Lemon Lolly Ribbon (from the Sheer Ribbon Combo Pack) around the card front layers and secure on the reverse. Adhere the layers direct to the card front. Trim a small (2-3/4″ x 1/2″) sentiment label of Basic White card. Stamp a sentiment from the Ringed With Nature stamp set onto it with Early Espresso ink. Pop up over the ribbon with dimensionals.

Quick One Horse Open Sleigh Christmas card insert

On the Basic White insert, using Early Espresso ink, stamp a sentiment from the Brightest Glow stamp set. Add a border of One Horse Open Sleigh DSP down the right side.
