Today’s tutorial is for a quick knotted ribbon birthday card. This card uses the full trio of ribbons from the Sheer Ribbon Pack. The ribbons are in soft colours that work well for baby projects. They can also be mixed with darker colours, as in this Christmas card.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the quick knotted ribbon birthday card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

Colour Combo

This colour combo mixes Azure Afternoon, Bubble Bath and Lemon Lolly.

Quick knotted ribbon birthday card

Start with an A6 landscape card of Azure Afternoon. Cut a card front layer (3-7/8″ x 5-1/2″) of Bubble Bath card. Adhere a (5-1/4″ x 1-1/2″) panel of Bright & Beautiful DSP to the base of the Bubble Bath layer, keeping the bottom and side margins even. Cut a (5-1/4″ x 2-1/8″) panel of a different pattern of Bright & Beautiful DSP to the top of the Bubble Bath layer, keeping the top and side margins even. Wrap Azure Afternoon ribbon from the Sheer Ribbon Pack around the join in the DSP and secure on the reverse. Adhere the layers centrally, direct to the card front.

Using Azure Afternoon ink, stamp a sentiment from the Charming sentiment set onto a (3-1/4″ x 3/4″) rectangle of Basic White card. Mat onto (3-1/2″ x 1″) Azure Afternoon card and pop up on the card front with dimensionals. Tie on knots of Bubble Bath and Lemon Lolly ribbon (also from the Sheer Ribbon Pack) to finish.

On the Basic White insert, using Azure Afternoon ink, stamp another sentiment from the Charming Sentiments set. Add a border of Bright & Beautiful DSP along the base.
