It’s Wednesday, so it’s washi-tape! Heehee.
Continuing our new feature – we’re sharing a new washi-tape project every Wednesday and this week we’re looking at making mini banners with it.
Here we’ve used the It’s My Party tape set and Baker’s Twine from the Combo Pack.
For the extra quick and simple method, simply take pieces of washi-tape and fold them over a length of Baker’s Twine, lining up the edges each time.
For a slightly cleaner, brighter look to the tape, sandwich a strip of Whisper White card, tried to the width of the tape, between the folded pieces.
Trim the folded tape (either to a “v”, or removing a “v”), to make a banner. The Whisper White sandwich is the lower banner in the samples below.
The banners can then be added to the front of a card or used to decorate a gift.
The card base is an A6 landscape of Basic Black, matted with Melon Mambo. Using Melon Mambo ink, the sentiment from Party Wishes was stamped onto a Whisper White card layer. The cake was stamped in the lower right corner with Crushed Curry ink, the sentiment over the top with Melon Mambo ink and the candles with Mint Macaron. Securing it on the reverse, the banner was strung over the top left corner of the card with a glue dot to anchor one of the central flags in place. Two teeny bows of Baker’s Twine were added to either end of the banner with more glue dots.
On the Whisper White insert, a sentiment was stamped in Melon Mambo and the mini cupcake in Crushed Curry. A piece of washi-tape was trimmed along the diagonal pattern and added t0 the insert.
If you don’t have/like washi-tape then you could substitute strips of DSP to make this project 🙂
