Washi-tape Wednesday – die cuts

March 2, 2016

It’s Wednesday, so it must be washi and we have another new washi-tape project for you – this time making the most of dies.

washi die cuts technique

Simply lay pieces of washi-tape side one above the other on a panel of Whisper White. Arrange dies as preferred on the panel and run through your chosen die-cutting machine. Cut a couple of strips from the panel against the “grain” of the tape.

The card base is an A6 portrait of Bermuda Bay, matted with Bohemian DSP. Three designs of the Bohemian washi-tape were used on Whisper White card to create a panel. A strip of the washi panel was adhered towards the base of the card front. Two different sizes of Stars framelits were die cut out from the panel and popped up with dimensionals on the card front. Using Blackberry Bliss ink, the sentiment from Happy Happenings (cut into two) was stamped on Whisper White card, die cut out with another Star and popped up on the card front.

On the Whisper White insert, the paired sentiment from Happy Happenings was stamped in Blackberry Bliss ink and another strip of washi-tape cut from the panel, was adhered along the base.

Again, if you don’t have/like washi-tape then you could substitute strips of DSP to make this project.
