New colour combos – day 2 – Mango Melody

August 12, 2018

This is day 2 of our new and returning colour focus, where I’m sharing projects that showcase one of these additions to the Stampin’ Up! colour families and suggesting a possible colour combination.

Today it’s Mango Melody. This new Bright is kind of midway between yellow and orange.

As a bright colour it would work really well paired with Basic Black (an option for another day) but for today it’s mixed with Melon Mambo and Night of Navy. These three are just a selection of the colours in the Garden Impressions DSP.

The card base is an A4 portrait of Mango Melody. A card front layer of Mango Melody was embossed top and bottom with the Petal Burst embossing folder and then a panel of Garden Impressions DSP was adhered between the two embossed areas before adhering direct to the card front. An oval was die cut from Whisper White card using the Stitched Shapes framelits and Night of Navy ink was used to stamp a birthday greeting from Perennial Birthday. Mango Melody and Melon Mambo inks was used to stamp a variety of flowers from the same set and then leaves were added with Pear Pizzazz ink. The stamped oval was adhered to a slightly larger oval die cut from Night of Navy card with the Layering Ovals and then popped up on the card front with dimensionals.

On the Whisper White insert another sentiment from the Perennial Birthday was stamped in Night of Navy. A border was created with flowers and spots stamped in Mango Melody, spots stamped full strength and small flowers stamped off first and other flowers stamped in Melon Mambo.

I’ll have a returning colour to share with you tomorrow.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Thanks for stopping by.
