Botanical Butterfly birthday gift stack card

January 13, 2019

Every year I make a version of this card during Sale-a-bration (SAB) using the free SAB papers and/or ribbon. It’s a great card for using up scraps of DSP and ribbon that you may have in your stash.

Birthday card using Botanical Butterfly DSP (SAB freebie) and Organdy Ribbon Pack (SAB freebie)

This year we have the Botanical Butterfly DSP (12 sheets of 12″ x 12″ paper, coloured on one side and black and white on the other) and the Organdy Ribbon Combo Pack (5 spools in Balmy Blue, Daffodil Delight, Grapefruit Grove, Highland Heather and Lemon Lime Twist).

Colour combination mixing Highland Heather, Daffodil Delight and Balmy Blue, all from Stampin' Up!

The colour combo is Highland Heather, Daffodil Delight and Balmy Blue (the Balmy Blue comes from the choice of section of the DSP so that two of the patterns have a little blue in them).

The card base is an A6 portrait of Highland Heather, matted with Daffodil Delight. On a card front layer of Whisper White, a sentiment from the Itty Bitty Birthdays was stamped at the base using Highland Heather ink and the layer adhered direct to the card front. Three consecutively smaller panels of Botanical Butterfly DSP were cut and a piece of Highland Heather Organdy Ribbon was adhered around them vertically before adhering direct to the card front. A bow of the same ribbon was adhered to the top of the gift stack with a mini glue dot.

Insert using Itty Bitty Birthday stamps and a strip of Botanical Butterfly DSP (SAB freebie).

On the Whisper White insert, two more sentiments from the Itty Bitty Birthday set were stamped with Highland Heather ink. A strip of the middle Botanical Butterfly DSP used on the card front was adhered along the base of the insert.

Thanks for stopping by.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
