Happy Tails Father’s Day

June 9, 2020

Today’s Happy Tails Father’s Day card is a commission for a customer who wants to send a Father’s Day card from their dog 😊

Happy Tails Father's Day

Now I did need to use retired products for this card in order to stay on schedule. I ordered the Playful Pets suite and it arrived yesterday but that wouldn’t have been in time to get this card sent out. The Playful Pets suite includes a different breed of dog, together with matching die. Although it doesn’t include a kennel, it does have a dog bowl and die cut paw prints.

The instructions below give the supplies I actually used, but the shopping list at the bottom suggests the alternatives that you can purchase now.

INSTRUCTIONS

Happy Tails Father's Day

Start with an A6 z-fold card of Pretty Peacock. Mat the front with Coastal Cabana DSP (I’m using up last year’s patterns). Stamp the kennel from Happy Tails onto In Good Taste DSP using Soft Suede ink. Fussy cut out and pop up on the card front with dimensionals. Punch a heart from Poppy Parade card with the Dog Builder punch and adhere direct to the kennel. Die cut a banner from Pretty Peacock using the Smooth Sailing dies. Using Pretty Peacock ink, stamp a sentiment from Happy Tails onto a scrap of Whisper White card. Trim and adhere direct to the banner then pop the left side up on the card front with mini dimensionals.

On the Whisper White insert, use Pretty Peacock ink to stamp the sentiment from Well Said on the right hand side. Using Memento Black ink, stamp the outline dog from Happy Tails. Use Pretty Peacock ink to add a collar to the dog before punching out with the Dog Builder punch and pop up on dimensionals on the lower, exposed part of the insert. (I coloured the ear of the dog with a Basic Black marker to match the customer’s dog).

Thanks for stopping by.
