Today’s sneak peek is this Halloween Hoot card. Now I don’t make many Halloween cards (I usually make plenty of Halloween treats instead) but this year is working out to be a little different, so I thought I’d make a card ready for my nephew.
I just love this whimsical Have A Hoot bundle. In addition to the wonderful images and sentiments used for this card, there are also another three images and two sentiments designed for Christmas.
Included in the co-ordinating die set is this fabulous label trio. It cuts out three different size of labels with a stitched border for each and it leaves apertures, also with stitched borders.
COLOUR COMBO
The colour combination mixes Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie and Crumb Cake.
Instructions
Start with an A6 portrait card of Basic Black. Using Peek-a-Hoot dies, die cut the label trio from a card front layer of Basic Black. At the top of the layer, stamp a sentiment from the Have a Hoot set with Versamark ink and heat emboss with White EP. On a card front layer of Whisper White, stamp the vampire owl using Memento Black ink. Stamp the same image and the pumpkin owl onto scraps of Whisper White using the same ink. Colour the branch on the card front layer, and just the owls, pumpkin and moon using Blends.
Using the Peek-a-Hoot dies, die cut out the vampire owl, pumpkin owl and moon stamped and coloured on scrap. Also die cut the spider’s web from Basic Black card. Adhere the web behind the corner of the small label aperture. Use this to position where to stamp the Boo! sentiment onto the Whisper White card front layer. Adhere this layer direct to the card front. Pop the aperture layer up over the top using dimensionals. Pop the two owls and the moon up on the card front with more dimensionals.
On the Whisper White insert, stamp another sentiment from the Have a Hoot set using Memento Black ink. With the same ink, stamp the owl with spider image in the lower right corner. Colour with Blends.
Thanks for stopping by.
