Today I have a tutorial for a cookies birthday card. It’s another card completed as a commission for a customer and they opted for the larger A5 size.
In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the cookies birthday card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

The A5 size card gives me a larger canvas to work on and so I combined the Nothings Better Than bundle with the Detailed Bands dies.
I knew that the intended recipient enjoys baking and is in the Sea Cadets and so this led me to the cookies theme and the colour scheme.
Colour Combo

The colour combo mixes Misty Moonlight, Cinnamon Cider and Sahara Sand.
Cookies birthday card tutorial

Start with an A5 portrait card of Misty Moonlight. Adhere a large card front layer of one of the patterns from the World of Good Specialty DSP onto a mat of Sahara Sand. Die cut a fancy Detailed Band from Sahara Sand card, extending the side strips so that they fit the width of the card front. Thread the band with Copper Ribbon from the Basket Weave & Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack. Secure the ribbon on the reverse before adhering the layers direct to the card front. Using Cinnamon Cider ink, stamp a sentiment from Itty Bitty Birthdays on a scrap of Whisper White card. Die cut out with the same Detailed Band used earlier and adhere the sentiment in the centre of the Sahara Sand band.
Die cut a “plate” from Whisper White card using a Layering Circles die. Using Early Espresso stamp the outline cookie from the Nothing’s Better Than stamp set, three times onto the “plate”, turning the “crumbs” inwards on two of them. Stamp two more onto scraps of Whisper White card. Stamp the solid cookie over the top of each outline one with Cinnamon Cider ink. Die cut each out each of the two separate cookies with the matching die. Pop these up on the “plate” with dimensionals and pop the “plate” up on the card front with more dimensionals.
Add Adhesive Sheet to the reverse of a small scrap of Copper Foil. Die cut a sentiment from the Copper Foil using the Love You More Than dies. Take the same die, flip it over and trace the outline onto Early Espresso card. Fussy cut out the shadow frame and adhere the Foil sentiment to it. Cut frames from Sahara Sand and Misty Moonlight card using the Detailed Bands dies. Adhere the sentiments and frames direct and then pop up the sentiment on the card front with dimensionals. Using Early Espresso ink, stamp sentiments from the Nothing’s Better Than stamp set onto skinny strips of Whisper White card and pop these up on opposite corners of the framed sentiment.
Cookies birthday card insert

On the Whisper White insert, stamp sentiments from A Grand Kid and Itty Bitty Birthdays, using Early Espresso ink. Using Early Espresso and Cinnamon Cider inks, stamp another cookie in the lower right corner.
Thanks for stopping by.
