Today I’m sharing a simple card tutorial for a black plaid birthday card. This works well as a masculine birthday card design and you can switch the pop of colour to the recipients favourite colour, or simply go with what you have in your stash.
In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating this black plaid birthday card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.
I’ve used one of the two black and white plaid patterns from the Plaid Tidings DSP pack for this design. This paper pack is one of those with a 15% discount but you only have until Saturday 31 October to grab this offer, so don’t miss out.
Plaid Tidings DSP also includes some pretty pink patterns so you can easily create a more feminine version of the card if you prefer.
Colour Combo
The colour combo mixes Basic Black and Whisper White with a splash of Coastal Cabana.
Black plaid birthday card tutorial
Start with an A6 portrait card of Basic Black. Mat with Coastal Cabana card, then Basic Black card and then Plaid Tidings DSP. Using Black stazon ink stamp a sentiment from Many Mates onto a scrap of Whisper White. Colour with the Coastal Cabana marker. Die cut the sentiment out with a small Stitched So Sweetly framelit. Mat direct to a small rectangle of Coastal Cabana card and then to another Stitched So Sweetly frame die cut from Basic Black. Pop the sentiment up on the card front with dimensionals.
On the Whisper White insert, stamp another sentiment from the Many Mates set using Black Stazon and adhere a strip of the same Plaid Tidings DSP across the base.
Thanks for stopping by.
