Today’s tutorial is for a lacy seashell birthday card. Yesterday I shared a black seashell card but today I’m back to some more traditional colours and a more feminine look.
I’ve been using the Seashells 3D embossing folder on its own so far this week. It does have co-ordinating stamps and dies though and this time I’m using all three together!
In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the lacy seashell birthday card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.
This birthday card only has the sentiment on the inside. I have some friends that are really sensitive about birthdays and don’t even like to have a birthday sentiment (never mind their age!) showing on the card. Do you know anyone like that?
Colour Combo
The colour combo mixes Sahara Sand, Flirty Flamingo and Blushing Bride.
Lacy seashell card
Start with an A6 portrait card of Sahara Sand. Die cut the large panel from Shimmery White card using the Seaside Seashells die set. Stamp each of the shells from the Friends are Like Seashells set in place on the die cut panel with Blushing Bride ink. Run the die cut panel through the Seashells 3D embossing folder to give it texture. Using the Rectangle Stitched dies, die cut a large aperture from a card front layer of Flirty Flamingo. Adhere the lacy seashell panel behind the aperture, trimming away any excess. Pop the panel (supporting the shells too) up on the card front with Foam Adhesive Strips.
Lacy seashell card insert
On the Basic White insert, stamp the birthday sentiment from the Friends are Like Seashells stamp set using Flirty Flamingo ink. Use Sahara Sand ink to add the sand and the starfishes along the base.
Thanks for stopping by.
