Today’s tutorial is for a shaded pansy birthday card. I’m using the same colour direct to stamp technique as on this card and I’ve included a “how to” video below.
I’ve also included a sneak peek of a Sale-a-bration freebie – the Summer Shadows die set, available from 3 August, free with a £90 purchase. These dies cut out the three floral images in the Shaded Summer stamp set. They also die cut various two-layer flowers and leaves (similar to the Poppy Moments dies).
In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the shaded pansy birthday card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.
The Pansy Petals DSP pack is included our DSP sale and has 15% off until 2 August.
Colour Combo
The colour combo mixes Fresh Freesia, Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen.
Shaded pansy birthday card
Start with an A6 portrait card of Fresh Freesia. Cut a card front layer of Pansy Petals DSP and mat onto Soft Succulent card before adhering the layers direct to the card front. Die cut a stitched, scalloped frame from Basic White card with the Scalloped Contours dies. Using Fresh Freesia ink (the ink pad rather than the marker to give a stronger stamped image), stamp a sentiment from the Shaded Summer set in the top right corner of the frame.
Using a Fresh Freesia marker, colour the flowers direct to stamp for one of the flower spray stamps in the Shaded Summer set. Colour the leaves direct to stamp using a Soft Succulent marker and the stems and sprays using an Evening Evergreen marker. Huff and stamp onto Basic White card. Die cut out with the Summer Shadows die set. Pop the flower spray up on the stamped panel with mini dimensionals. Tie a dinky bow of Fresh Freesia Open Weave ribbon (see video here) and adhere to the stem of the flower spray with a mini glue dot. Finish with a trio of Loose Flower Flourishes.
Here’s the quick tip video explaining how to colour direct to stamp. Please subscribe to my Youtube channel for future quick tips and quick cards.
Shaded pansy birthday card insert
On the Basic White insert, using a Fresh Freesia ink, stamp another sentiment from the Shaded Summer set. Using a Fresh Freesia marker, colour the flowers direct to stamp for the other flower spray stamp in the Shaded Summer set. Colour the leaves direct to stamp using a Soft Succulent marker and the stems and sprays using an Evening Evergreen marker. Huff and stamp.
Thanks for stopping by.
