Tutorial for bermuda bay camellia card

January 21, 2022

Today’s tutorial is for a bermuda bay camellia card. Sometimes it’s fun to turn colours on their head and go for something a little surreal!

I’m no gardener and so I googled “camellia” to get ideas for the Polished Pink and Petal Pink cards that I created earlier in the week. Today I’m throwing out the “real” colours and opting for some bright, warm blues that I love to use.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the bermuda bay camellia card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything anything you don’t already own (the order code for the Calming Camellia stamp set is 158117).

If you host a workshop, party or class with sales of £275 or more during Sale-a-bration, then you will get the Calming Camellia set for free. Similarly, if you have a larger order all of your own and you spend £275 or more, then you also get the set for free. Now I agree that it is a lot of money to spend but if you have a bunch of friends who would all like to buy some new crafting goodies then those orders all add up and you could pass the stamp set between yourselves. Email me if you’d like to know more about earning this stamp set.

Colour Combo

The colour combo mixes Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana and Basic White.

Start with an A6 portrait card of Bermuda Bay. Cut a card front layer of Coastal Cabana. Using Bermuda Bay ink, stamp the large floral spray from the Calming Camellia set in the centre. Use the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to “spatter” over the card layer lightly. Mix together a single drop of Bermuda Bay ink (from an ink refill) with a little water (a glass block makes a good palette). Using a brush (the Water Painters work well for this), “spatter” ink over the card layer too. Allow to dry and then adhere direct to the card front. Using the Stitched Rectangle dies, die cut a frame from Bermuda Bay card and adhere direct to the card front.

Using Bermuda Bay ink, stamp the large floral spray onto Basic White card. Fussy cut out and run a Bermuda Bay marker around all the cut edges, so that they don’t show white. Pop up over the original image with dimensionals and mini dimensionals. Using Bermuda Bay ink, stamp a sentiment from the Calming Camellia set, on a scrap of Basic White card. Die cut out with the Stitched Rectangle dies. Pop up over the stem of the popped up camellia with mini dimensionals. Finish with a scattering of Iridescent Rhinestones.

On the Basic White insert, using Bermuda Bay ink, stamp another sentiment from the Calming Camellia set. Using Coastal Cabana ink, stamp the leaf from the set down the right hand side, beginning in the centre and working outwards.

Thanks for stopping by.
