Tutorial for quick Father’s Day card

May 9, 2022

Today’s tutorial is for a quick Father’s Day card. Yes, it’s a little early but I want to give you plenty of time to get your supplies delivered. Plus you’re not so rushed in making the card to get it to Dad in time!

Each week over on my Facebook page (please pop over and Like or Follow) I choose a product pick of the week to feature. This week, it’s the He’s The Man Specialty DSP. I’ll have a selection of tutorials for you throughout the week, that share different ideas for using these papers for a variety of masculine themed projects

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the quick Father’s Day card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

Start with an A6 portrait card of Sahara Sand. Cut a card front layer (5-1/2″ x 3-7/8″) of Early Espresso card. Cut a panel (3-5/8″ x 2-1/4″) of dark patterned He’s The Man Specialty DSP and adhere this at the base of the Early Espresso layer (keeping the side and base margins even). Adhere a panel (3-5/8″ x 3″) of light patterned He’s The Man Specialty DSP at the top of the Early Espresso layer (overlapping the base one if needed). Wrap Early Espresso Faux Suede Trim around the card front layers, over the join in the DSP and secure on the reverse. Pop the layers up on the card front with dimensionals. Press a sentiment from the die cut sheet of He’s The Man Specialty DSP and pop up on the upper card front with dimensionals. Finish by adding Rustic Metallic Adhesive-backed Dots to the sentiment.

On the Basic White insert, using Early Espresso ink, stamp a sentiment from the He’s All That set and the “No. 1” symbol. Add a border of the darker DSP from the front of the card, centrally across the base.
