Today’s tutorial is for a quick Horizons birthday card. The papers in the New Horizons pack have patterns that create mini “scenes” and also some that are more watercoloured/alcohol inked/salted, with a more subtle pattern. Here I’m using one of the more subtle patterns.
Each week over on my Facebook page (please pop over and Like or Follow) I choose a product pick of the week to feature. This week, it’s the New Horizons DSP. I’ll have a selection of tutorials for you throughout the week, that share different ideas for using these versatile papers.
In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the quick Horizons birthday card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything anything you don’t already own.
Colour Combo
The colour combo mixes Polished Pink, Melon Mambo and Basic White.
Quick Horizons birthday card
Start with an A6 portrait card of Polished Pink. Cut a card front layer (3-7/8″ x 5-1/2″) of Melon Mambo and then one (3-5/8″ x 5-1/4″) of New Horizons DSP. Using Polished Pink ink, stamp the medium flower from the Artistically Inked stamp set down the left side of the DSP layer, starting in the centre and working outward. Adhere the DSP layer centrally and direct, to the Melon Mambo layer. Wrap Polished Pink Open Weave Ribbon around the layers, at the right side of the stamped border. Adhere the layers direct to the card front.
Using Polished Pink ink, stamp a sentiment from the Artistically Inked stamp set onto a panel (1-3/4″ x 1-1/4″) of Basic White card. Mat onto (2″ x 1-1/2″) Melon Mambo card. Pop this up in the lower right corner of the card front. Tie more Polished Pink Open Weave Ribbon onto the wrapped ribbon, in a bow. Finish with Loose Flower Flourishes.
Here’s a short video showing how this quick card comes together. Please subscribe to my Youtube channel to see my quick cards and quick tips each week.
Quick Horizons birthday card insert
On the Basic White insert, using Polished Pink ink, stamp another sentiment from the Artistically Inked stamp set. Stamp the same flower used on the front, this time down the right side of the insert, using the same ink.
Thanks for stopping by.
