Tutorial for framed Pool Party card

July 22, 2022

Today’s tutorial is for a framed Pool Party card. This time we’re stepping up the preprinted Pool Party card using dies.

The Pool Party & Soft Sea Foam Cards & Envelopes set is free with a £45 purchase during Sale-a-bration.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the framed Pool Party card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own (the order code for the Pool Party & Soft Sea Foam Cards & Envelopes is 159940).

Start with a preprinted Soft Sea Foam card from the Pool Party & Soft Sea Foam Cards & Envelopes set. Keeping the card opened out and flat, position a Stitched Rectangle die in the centre of the card front and run through the Cut & Emboss machine (see video below). (Tip – retain the die cut centre to use on another project). Fold along the scoreline and burnish to close flat. Using the next two largest Stitched Rectangle dies, die cut a frame from Bermuda Bay card and adhere this around the aperture in the card front. (Tip – again, retain the die cut centre from the frame to use on another project – it works well with the other die cut centre that you have retained).

Here’s a short video explaining this way of stepping up a preprinted card base and suggesting a few other alternatives to the Stitched Rectangle dies. Please subscribe to my Youtube channel to see my quick cards and quick tips each week.

Using the Splendid Stems dies, die cut different size outline leaves from Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana and Pool Party card. (Tip – use Bermuda Bay card for the largest leaf so that it is still visible at the back of the arrangement. Adhere the largest leaf to the inside back of the card, through the aperture (so that you know it will be seen). Using the smallest deep Stitched Rectangle die, die cut a sentiment label from Basic White card. Stamp a sentiment from the Splendid Thoughts stamp set onto the label with Bermuda Bay ink. Adhere the two smaller leaves directly behind the sentiment label. Pop the label up on dimensionals, positioning it through the aperture in the card front.

Thanks for stopping by.
