I’ve seen a few white on white cards on my surfing travels and always thought how classy they look. So I decided to create one of my own. With only a single colour in play, the emphasis moves to texture and so I pulled out all the Big Shot embossing folders.
A plain Whisper White card was matted with a large panel of Textured Whisper White cardstock. Three smaller panels of plain Whisper White were cut and embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper, Square Lattice and Elegant Bouquet folders before adhering them direct to the card front. The Manhattan Flower was used to emboss more Whisper White card and the main flower cut out and popped up on dimensionals.
I added another layer to the insert to add a little more weight to the back of the card for balance (and also to use the final folder 🙂 ).
Recipe
Stamp set: Something to Celebrate (Hostess Level 2 – W121897 or C121955)
Cardstock: Whisper White (106549)
Ink: Versamark (102283)
Embossing Folder: Perfect Polka Dots (117335)
Other: Gold EP (109129)
Tools: Big Shot (113439), Heat Tool (110197)
The sentiment was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with Gold EP. Just one edge of the insert was run through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots folder and then the insert was adhered direct to the inside of the card.
I’ll be back tomorrow with a tip for using the embossing folders with Whisper White and Very Vanilla card.
Unfortunately we don’t stock this embossing folder any more, it’s been “retired”. You might find a second hand/lightly used one on Ebay though if you search for it. Hope you find one.
did you cut the rose out by hand or did you have a dicut for it?
