Flower Patch birthday card

August 17, 2014

Today’s birthday card is a bright flower arrangement.

The Flower Patch bundle provides so many different options for creating flowers quickly and easily. Because this card is to be posted I kept the layers minimal and created an illusion of depth by overstamping in different colours. The framelits meant that I didn’t have to spend a lot of time fussy cutting out 🙂

The card base is a 5″ square of Old Olive, matted with Crushed Curry. A sentiment from Flower Patch* was stamped in Old Olive ink onto a square of Whisper White card before adhering direct to the card front. The largest solid flower was stamped in Crushed Curry ink onto Whisper White card and then overstamped with Calypso Coral and Melon Mambo inks using smaller flowers (the photopolymer stamps make this so easy!). Medium flowers (two) were stamped with Wisteria Wonder and then overstamped with the same central flower as for the largest, using Melon Mambo ink again. Small flowers (three) were stamped with Crushed Curry and then overstamped with the smallest flower using Melon Mambo ink. Leaves (three) were stamped in Pear Pizzzazz and then overstamped with Old Olive. All the flowers and leaves were die cut with the matching Flower Fair framelits* and then arranged on the card front, popping them up on dimensionals.

* Buy both the photopolymer stamp set and the framelits together as a Flower Patch bundle and save 15%

On the Whisper White insert a sentiment from Blooming with Kindness was stamped in Old Olive ink. The smallest flowers used on the card front were stamped direct to the insert.
