Shaving foam background to Just Believe

May 2, 2013

As part of my preparation for an upcoming class I’ve been experimenting with some different colours for an alternative card style. We’ll be using bright, bold colours in class but I wanted to show that you can also opt for a subtle background and thought I’d share the results with you.

The card base is an A6 portrait of Elegant Eggplant. After stamping the sentiment from Just Believe (W116948 or C120453) in Elegant Eggplant ink onto a strip of Wisteria Wonder card it was punched with the Scallop Trim Border (118402). The plain edge of the stamped strip was edged with Wisteria Wonder Ruffled Ribbon (122973) and adhered to a mat of Bashful Blue Patterns DSP (Subtles 117152) before adhering direct to the card front. A subtle marbled background was made using the shaving foam technique and Bashful Blue (105221) and Wisteria Wonder (122931) reinkers before stamping the long flowers from the same stamp set in Elegant Eggplant ink. After matting this onto Elegant Eggplant card, it was popped up on the card front with dimensionals.

We’ll be covering the shaving foam technique, as well as a shadowbox card template at our Template and Technique Class on Saturday 11th May.

Template And Technique Class May

If you’d like to join the class then please book by this Sunday teatime (5 May) at the latest so that I can make sure we have enough project materials and take away goodies for everyone.

Sara xx
