Festival of Trees – sneak peek

August 19, 2014

Today I’m starting my sneak peek countdown to the Autumn/Winter catalogue, which launches on Thursday 28 August and I’m so excited – I honestly think this is Stampin’ Up!’s best catalogue yet! It’s costing me a fortune 🙂

The featured goodies today are a bundle (so saving 15%) of the Festival of Trees photopolymer stamp set and matching Tree punch.

SU! have really got their photopolymer strategy spot on. When a stamp set is a two step set, i.e. so that one design gets stamped over the top of another (as here) they are making them in photopolymer, so that you can see exactly where you’re stamping.

The card base is an A6 landscape of Crumb Cake, matted with Very Vanilla card. Two of the trees from the new Festival of Trees stamp set were stamped in Chocolate Chip ink onto a mat of Crumb Cake and then the tinsel was stamped over the top with Gold Metallic ink. A sentiment from the same set was stamped, also in Chocolate Chip ink. Gold Satin Ribbon was wrapped around the card layer, secured on the reverse and Early Espresso Baker’s Twine tied in a bow around it before adhering to the front of the card. A third tree was stamped, again in Chocolate Chip ink onto Crumb Cake card, punched out with the Tree and popped up on dimensionals, in between the first two. This tree was decorated with Basic Pearls.

On the Very Vanilla insert a fourth tree design was stamped in Crumb Cake and then the sentiment, star, tinsel and plant pot were stamped in Chocolate Chip ink.

The set also has a fifth (solid) tree, baubles, a bird and a “To: From:” sentiment.

I’ll be back with another sneak peek tomorrow.

Let me know if you want a paper copy of the Autumn/Winter catty.

Great card – love what you have done with this set – so different to what I have seen elsewhere. I may just case it. Thank for the inspiration. Margaret
