Vellum Flurry

October 11, 2015

Today’s card turns a flurry of snowflakes into a blizzard, with the addition of snowflake patterned vellum. Cutting away the right front of the card provides an extra decorative twist.

An A6 portrait of Basic Black had a strip of the front right edge cut away. A piece of Winter Wonderland Designer Vellum was adhered to a panel of Smoky Slate card using adhesive just at the left and right edges. Everyday Chic Washi Tape was placed along the left edge to hide the adhesive. After stamping a sentiment from the Flurry of Wishes set onto a strip of Smoky Slate card with Basic Black ink, it was trimmed to a banner and stapled to the top of the vellum panel. Silver Cording Trim was wrapped around twice and tied in a bow before adhering the vellum panel to the front of the card. The duo of snowflakes from the same Flurry of Wishes set was stamped onto Smoky Slate and Whisper White card and punched out with the matching Snow Flurry. White snowflakes were adhered flat and grey snowflakes popped up on dimensionals down the left front of the card, covering any adhesive showing through the vellum. Finally, Basic Rhinestones were added to the centres of the snowflakes.

The Whisper White insert was trimmed down so that it doesn’t show when the card is closed. Basic Black ink was used to stamp the duo of snowflakes again and the sentiment from the same set.

Back soon with a gift box to go with the card 🙂
