Bear Hugs for a friend

January 25, 2016

A friend has been going through a pretty rough time recently, so I made this card to try cheer her up a little.

The sentiment from Perfect Pennants seems to work well with the sentiments and images in the Bear Hugs stamp set.

The card base is an A6 portrait of Soft Suede matted with Crumb Cake. A layer of Whisper White card was run through the Woodland embossing folder that had first been brayered with Crumb Cake ink. This was then adhered direct to the card front. Using Soft Suede ink, the large bear from Bear Hugs was stamped onto Crumb Cake card and then die cut out with the matching Bear Hugs framelit. The heart framelit from the set was used to die cut from Real Red and then a sentiment from the stamp set stamped over it with Basic Black ink. Linen Thread was attached to the back of the hear and around the bear claws before popping him up on the card front with dimensionals. A sentiment from the Perfect Pennants was stamped in Soft Suede ink onto Crushed Curry card, die cut out with a Banner framelit and popped up on dimensionals on the card front.

On the Whisper White insert, the sentiment and flower image were stamped in Black Stazon and Pear Pizzazz, Crushed Curry and Real Red markers are used to colour in the flowers.

My friend liked the card so I guess it achieved its aim 🙂
