It’s Friday and so it’s Christmas idea time again
Our Christmas card today uses the all occasion Lovely as a Tree stamp set. The card here is a stepped up version and over on my Facebook page you’ll find a much simplified version, using less materials and just a little flatter for posting – perfect again for batch card making.
Unfortunately you don’t quite get the sparkle from these photos but it’s very spangly IRL
Both versions of the card start with a 3-1/2″ Square of Bermuda Bay card base.
The fir tree from the Lovely as a Tree set (W128655 or C127793 – this old workhorse has been in the catty from the beginning and is a firm favourite) was stamped three times (without reinking in between) using Bermuda Bay ink onto Whisper White card. The stamped image was covered with Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet (120805) and then die cut out with Circles Collection framelits (130911). This was adhered direct to the card front and then the liner peeled away and Dazzling Diamonds (102023) applied and rubbed in well. A frame of Pool Party card was die cut with the same Circles Collection (using the next up and next down circles from the one used to cut the image) and popped up on dimensionals. The sentiment from Petite Pairs (W128706 or C122497 – 25% off during July only) was stamped in Bermuda Bay ink onto Whisper White card, punched out with the Large Oval (119855) and matted onto a Scallop Oval (119856) punched from Bermuda Bay card. This was adhered flat to the popped up frame and supported with a sliver of dimensional where it overhangs the card front. A small tree was punched from Pool Party card with the Merry Minis punch pack (126882 – set of three, available from the carry over list of items from our previous Autumn/Winter catalogue), popped up on a sliver of dimensional and topped with a Basic Rhinestone (119246). Three more mini trees were punched from Bermuda Bay card, two adhered flat and the other popped up, on the opposite side of the frame and all topped with Basic Rhinestones.
The simplified version on Facebook uses a square frame, die cut with Squares Collection framelits (130921) but could also be done with a Paper Trimmer or craft knife (just a little more faff). A Teeny Tiny Sentiment (W130042 or C120024) was stamped direct to the edge of the frame and all the glitter and extra embellishments were left off.
On the inside, the tip of the fir tree and the matching sentiment from Petite Pairs were stamped in Bermuda Bay ink.
Please email me if you’d like to order supplies.
As usual, I’ll be back some time within the next week with a non-Christmas card using the same stamp set.
Have a great weekend.
