Today’s card is for this week’s CASE challenge over at SUDSOL. CASE is to Copy and Share Everything (or you may see some slight variation on the words) and SUDSOL is a great forum for Stampin’ Up! demonstrators. I love using it to kick start the creation process.
The card to be CASEd this week is from our Stampin’ Up! Impressions mini magazine (BTW you get this magazine, packed with crafting and business ideas, every two months when you’re a demonstrator):
For the challenge you can copy it, pretty much as it is or you can change some elements around. I decided to turn it into a stepped up masculine birthday card and flipped the design around, so that the message I created reads from left to right (just one example of how you can make a CASEd card more your own).
The card base is an A6 Landscape of Early Espresso, matted with Baked Brown Sugar card. All layers and elements throughout the card were sponged around the edges with Baked Brown Sugar ink, with the exception of any Early Espresso layers/elements. A mat of Very Vanilla was run through the Big Shot with the Woodgrain embossing folder (127821) after brayering it with Crumb Cake ink and then adhered direct to the card front. The Hi sentiment from the Label Card Thinlits (133479) was die cut from Early Espresso card, punched out with the Decorative Label (120907) and then adhered to the card front. A tag was punched from Crumb Cake card using the Scalloped Tag Topper (133324), Linen Thread (104199) was tied to it in a bow and the tag adhered direct to the card front. A stamp-a-ma-jig (101049) was used to stamp the sentiment from the Six Sided Sampler (Wood 130953 or Clear 130956) onto one of the wooden arrows from the Essentials Wooden Elements (132258) using Early Espresso ink. More arrows were die cut from Very Vanilla card using the same Label Card Thinlits set. All the arrows were adhered direct to the tag. Finally, the birthday sentiment from the Label Love set (Wood 130619 or Clear 130622) was stamped onto Very Vanilla card with Early Espresso ink and punched out with the Artisan Label punch (130920) (also available as a bundle with 15% off Wood Bundle 132723 or Clear Bundle 132722). This was popped up on the card front with dimensionals.
Because I made this card for a friend I’ve known for a very long time I was a little cheeky with the sentiments from Bring on the Cake (Wood 128490 or Clear 121958) which were stamped in Baked Brown Sugar ink on the Very Vanilla insert.
I hope this gives you some inspiration for converting a card you CASE, into something quite different.
Sara xx
