This week’s SUDSOL sketch challenge is this:
I turned to my colour coach for a colour combo and found the Cajun Craze, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive. I’m not altogether sure about the colours – maybe I unbalanced it by adding the blue butterfly? What do you think?
The card base is an A6 portrait of Cajun Craze, matted with Daffodil Delight. After stamping the leafy spray from Creative Elements (Wood 128523 or Clear 122647) onto Whisper White card with Old Olive ink, any contained areas were coloured in. The butterfly was created by inking first with Pool Party, then the edges of the wings were dipped onto the Tempting Turquoise ink pad and a Basic Gray marker coloured the body before stamping directly above the leafy spray. This was matted onto Cajun Craze card and popped up on the card front with dimensionals. The flower was stamped in Cajun Craze ink onto Whisper White card and coloured in with a Daffodil Delight marker. After fussy cutting out, it was popped up on dimensionals in the corner of the stamped mat. The sentiment, from the same set again was inked with Daffodil Delight and then the top and bottom of the stamp were rolled on the Cajun Craze ink pad, stamped onto Whisper White card and punched out with the Large Oval (119855). This was matted onto a Scallop Oval (119856) of Cajun Craze and popped up on just one side so that it overlapped the stamped layer.
On the inside, another sentiment was stamped in Cajun Craze ink. The border was stamped in Cajun Craze and Daffodil Delight inks, without reinking in between, to get two intensities of colour.
