Perfectly Penned birthday card

May 15, 2014

perfectly penned close up

Many crafters have difficulty creating bows (they’re tricky little suckers aren’t they).

So when you have managed to create a nice neat bow therefore, it’s worth featuring it and making it a focal point of your card.

Here, I actually cheated with a faux bow (simply loop the ribbon and fasten a brad around it). I love the clean, elegant look to the card.

perfectly penned

The card base is a non-standard size of Basic Gray. Using Versamark ink (102283), the sentiment from Perfectly Penned (Wood 128703 or Clear 122892was stamped onto more Basic Gray card, covered with Black EP (109133) and heat embossed. A faux bow of Daffodil Delight Seam Binding Ribbon (125583) was secured by an Antique Brad (117273) and wrapped over one corner and a small piece of the same ribbon was secured over the opposite corner. This layer was matted onto Daffodil Delight card and then popped up on dimensionals on the card front.

perfectly penned inside

On the inside, a sentiment from Bring on the Cake (Wood 128490 or Clear 121958was stamped in Basic Gray ink onto a Whisper White insert.

perfectly penned envelope

Since the card is a non-standard size, the Envelope Punch Board (133774was used to create an envelope from Kaleidoscope DSP (132995and a label  from Whisper White card.
