I’ve got a craft filled weekend planned!!
Tomorrow I’m off to our regional Stampin’ Up! training event in Telford with a bunch of my Paper Dolls team. We’re hoping to see some of the products coming soon in the new catalogue (maybe even get to play with a few 🙂 ) and we’ll definitely be sharing ideas and swapping cards etc with our fellow demonstrators.
I’m busy trying to make a few more swaps to take to training and also prepare for the Ross Papercraft Show at Ecclesfield School on Sunday. I’ll be there with more members of the Paper Dolls team. We’ll have samples to show, retired products for sale and demonstrations throughout the day. We look forward to meeting some of you there hopefully!
Meanwhile, I’ve taken a quick break from all the swaps and preparation to make a card to share with you all 🙂
Today’s card uses the reverse masking technique to create the illusion of layers without the bulk.
The card base is Always Artichoke that was run through the Big Shot in the Framed Tulips embossing folder (121809) and then cut to the size of the frame. An Oval from the Ovals Collection framelits (129381) was used to die cut a sticky note and the outer, negative from the oval was placed onto Very Vanilla card. The Woodgrain background stamp (Wood 128763 or Clear 127808) was inked with Crumb Cake and stamped over the reverse mask. Solid leaves from Gently Falling (Wood 128430 or Clear 123804) were stamped in a mix of Old Olive, Garden Green and Pear Pizzazz inks and then the matching outline leaves were stamped in Always Artichoke ink. Crumb Cake and Baked Brown Sugar inks were swirled around the edges of the mask with Sponge Daubers (102892) before it was removed. Another Oval framelit was used to die cut our the stamped image before adhering it direct to the front of the card. A Pear Pizzazz Taffeta Ribbon (131208) bow was attached with Mini Glue Dots. After stamping a sentiment from Petite Pairs (Wood 128706 or Clear 122497) onto Very Vanilla card with Always Artichoke ink, it was punched out with the Large Oval (119855), matted onto a Scallop Oval (119856) punched from Always Artichoke card and popped up on the card front with dimensionals.
The Very Vanilla insert was stamped with a sentiment from Perfectly Penned (Wood 128703 or Clear 122892) in Always Artichoke ink. Another solid leaf from Gently Falling was stamped in the corner with Pear Pizzazz ink and then overstamped with the outline leaf in Always Artichoke ink.
Back now to the grindstone. Isn’t life hard, lol!
