I made my own custom background paper recently and today I’m using it to create a masculine birthday card.

The card base is an A6 portrait of Basic Gray, matted with Daffodil Delight and then with the Sassy Salutations background homemade paper (see technique here). After stamping the sentiment from Perfect Pennants in Basic Gray ink onto Whisper White card, it was die cut out with a Banner framelit. Silver Baker’s Twine was wrapped around and tied in a knot, before popping up on a slightly larger Banner, die cut from Smoky Slate card and then popping up on the card front. The sentiment was stamped again in Basic Gray ink onto Daffodil Delight. Just the letter “a” was punched out with the 1/2″ Circle and adhered over the original.

On the Whisper White insert, the sentiment from Something to Say was stamped in Basic Gray and the splatters from Gorgeous Grunge were stamped over opposite corners with the same ink.
