Perpetual Diamond Box

May 1, 2015

I’ve seen a few of these boxes in blogland over the last month or two and decided it was time to try one. My lovely friend Elaine may have been the first to design it and she certainly has an easy to follow tutorial for the basic box and measurements. She calls it a squeeze open box, I call it a diamond box – tomaytoes, tomahtoes!

I made a few changes – stamp sets, colours, framelits – but it’s still basically the same box 😀

Some of the items used are retiring and these are noted in the instructions below – availability was correct at the time of writing but retired products are selling out fast.

The box base is cut from Soft Suede and stamped with the two sets of leaves from the Perpetual Birthday Calendar set in Soft Suede ink. One of the Floral Frames framelits was used to cut the top of the box and it was assembled according to Elaine’s instructions. Calypso Coral Seam Binding Ribbon was tied in a bow around the “squeeze open” part of the box. After stamping the sentiment from Label Love (retiring) in Soft Suede ink onto a scrap of Whisper White it was punched out with the Artisan Label (retiring – SOLD OUT). Another Artisan Label punched from Crushed Curry was cut in half and matted behind the sentiment before popping up on the front of the box with dimensionals. A Daydream Medallion flower (retiring) was stamped onto Crushed Curry card with Soft Suede ink and a smaller one onto Soft Suede card with the same ink. These were die cut out with the matching Floral Frames, layered with dimensionals and popped up with more of the same onto the top of the box front.

For inquisitive minds – it’s filled with chocolate eclairs from M&S 🙂

Have a great bank holiday weekend!
