In our recent Slider Technique Class we included a version of this slider treat box. The original was sized for a Kit Kat but they’re quite easy to resize for whatever sweet treat you choose.
My friend Catherine asked how to make one to hold a Hotel Chocolat slab and so this is what we came up with.
Although all things Strawberry Slush have now sold out you could simply substitute Melon Mambo for a pretty similar look.
The box base is made from Pink Pirouette, punched with a hole top centre, front and back. Pink Pirouette Seam Binding Ribbon was threaded through the holes and tied in a bow around the chocolate bar. Strawberry Slush ink was used to stamp the bold flower from Flower Patch*, onto a mat of Whisper White. A stem and leaves from the same set were stamped below in Old Olive. After matting the stamped images onto Strawberry Slush card, they were popped up on the box front with dimensionals (to allow the ribbon pull mechanism to run smoothly). The large spiky flowerhead was stamped onto a scrap of Whisper White with Pink Pirouette ink and then stamped over the top with the 5 petal spiky flower in Strawberry Slush. Pear Pizzazz ink was used to stamp the bold leaf twice, onto scraps of Whisper White card. The detailed leaf was then stamped over the top in Old Olive. Matching Flower Fair framelits* were used to die cut out the flower and leaves which were then popped up on the card box with dimensionals. A Basic Pearl was used to finish the flower.
* Buy the Flower Patch stamp set and the Flower Fair framelits together as a bundle and save 15%
Here’s the slider opened up to show the treat.
Enjoy the rest of your bank holiday weekend 🙂
