Painted With Love Valentine Box

January 18, 2018

Valentine’s Day is less than 4 weeks away now and so I’ve made a little Valentine Gift Box to hold a sweet treat for my hubby.

It’s an all in one box (no separate pieces to fall off and get lost) and when you lift the lid the centre opens up so you can get inside.

I found some great instructions for making this “Impossible Gift Box” by Paper Pixie on Youtube. You can access her video here. My box was made using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool and with Rich Razzleberry card, decorated with pieces of Painted With Love Specialty DSP, matted on to Gold Foil (all following the dimensions given in the video). Using Rich Razzleberry ink, the spotted heart from Heart Happiness was stamped onto Whisper White card. Calypso Coral ink was used to stamp the heart from the Lots of Love set onto more Whisper White card and then the Sweet and Sassy framelits were used to die cut them out before popping them up on the front of the box with dimensionals. A Metallic Enamel Shape was added to the Coral heart and a tiny bow of the 1/8″ Gold Ribbon was added with a Mini Glue Dot to the “lid” of the box to finish.

I actually made this box as my second project. The first one started with a sheet of Painted With Love Specialty DSP (it’s definitely strong and thick enough to make small boxes with). But I hadn’t appreciated from Paper Pixie’s video that the “lid” of the box would show the reverse of the DSP.

Not quite the effect I was after … but I plan to decorate it up and use it for another occasion 🙂

Thanks for stopping by.
