As promised I’m back today with dimensions and instructions for creating a dinky box from a trimmed down sheet of 6″ x 6″ DSP.
The DSP needs to be 6″ x 5-1/2″. Trim away the extra 1/2″ from either the top of bottom of your 6″ x 6″ piece of DSP if there is a definite “right way up” to the pattern as here.
Step 1 – Start with a piece of DSP 6″ x 5-1/2″. With the 6″ side across the top, score at 1-3/8″, 2-3/4″, 4-1/8″ and 5-1/2″.
Step 2 – Rotate the paper clockwise and with the 5-1/2″ side across the top, score at 1-3/8″, 3-3/4″ and 5-1/8″. Prefold along all the score lines.
Step 3 – Turning the paper back around the right way snip away fully the bottom right corner piece along the score lines. Snip up the vertical scorelines from the bottom as far as the first scoreline (this is the base of the box).
Step 4 – Apply Tear & Tape to close to the scoreline on the narrowest (right hand) edge. Flip the paper over, remove the backing tape and fold the two edges so they meet in the centre and adhere.
Step 5 – Fold the base pieces in until the final one is remaining. Apply Tear & Tape to the inside of the final base flap. Remove the backing tape and fold the base in and adhere.
Step 6 – Fold the lid closed and clip.
Thanks for stopping by.
