Today’s tutorial is for a Sweet Stockings mini carton. The Sweet Stockings suite includes not just stamped stocking and gift images but also a variety of pets including dogs, cats and hamsters.

Although the suite has its own DSP pack (with lots of cute animals), I’ve used a returning DSP from last year – Heartwarming Hugs. The red in this pack allowed me to match up with a couple more returning favourites; Real Red Sheer Ribbon and Red Velvet Paper.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the Sweet Stockings mini carton. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything that’s already available.

Colour Combo

The colour combo mixes Real Red, Pear Pizzazz and Crumb Cake.

Sweet Stockings mini carton

Start with a 6″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Heartwarming Hugs DSP. Score, cut and assemble following my tutorial here. Using Memento Black ink, stamp the smallest stocking and the hamster head onto scraps of Basic White card. Colour the hamster head with Blends (Crumb Cake duo and Light Petal Pink).

Die cut out both images with the stocking dies. Using Memento Black ink, stamp the smallest stocking again, this time onto Red Velvet paper. Fussy cut out the centre of the stocking and paper piece it in place over the original stamped stocking. Pop the stocking and the hamster head up on the carton front with mini dimensionals.

Punch or pierce a couple of holes in the top of the carton and tie closed with Real Red Sheer Ribbon.
