Colour Revamp and Ink Pad Redesign

May 14, 2018

Stampin’ Up! makes a point to keep an eye on colour fashions across different markets and industries to make sure that we stay on trend. A part of this is our In Colour groups that you’re probably used to seeing change, but every few years or so they also take a look at our core colours too. In order to keep bringing you the most current and on trend colours, they decided it was time to give our colour collections a makeover.

In addition to new colours, they’ve also redesigned our ink pads. The case is a new, more intuitive design and there’s an improved formula of the ink, as well!

Why the change to the case?

The case’s manufacturing mould was about to expire. Stampin’ Up! can only use a mould a limited number of times before they need to replace it, so they had to decide if they wanted to order more of the same or try to improve the design.   They chose to improve it!  Bonus!

Stampin’ Up! wanted to align the updated case with the color revamp and improvements to the ink. In addition, they chose to time these changes with Stampin’ Up!’s rebranding and packaging updates. This way, when you invest in the new colors, you are also getting the new and improved ink pads at the same time!

What’s better about the case?

  • Less confusing to open.
  • A tighter fit between the lid and the base.
  • Stackable.
  • Improved labels and stickers.

How is the ink different?

  • Reduced ink bubbles.
  • Smoother coating of ink on the stamp.
  • Lays down the ink better.

I’ll be introducing you to the new core colours soon but if you want to get your hands on the new design ink pads before the new annual catalogue launches on 1 June, we have an early release of the new In Colours in the new style ink pads.

Just as important, on 31 May 2018, thirteen colours are retiring.

  • Always Artichoke
  • Chocolate Chip
  • Elegant Eggplant
  • Island Indigo
  • Marina Mist
  • Perfect Plum
  • Pink Pirouette
  • Rose Red
  • Soft Sky
  • Tangerine Tango
  • Tempting Turquoise
  • Wild Wasabi
  • Wisteria Wonder

And of course we have some In Colours retiring too. The retiring 2016-2018 In Colours are:

  • Dapper Denim
  • Emerald Envy
  • Flirty Flamingo*
  • Peekaboo Peach
  • Sweet Sugar Plum

*Please note that while Flirty Flamingo is retiring as an In Colour, it will immediately return as part of our core colour collection (as if it never went away).

If you want card, ink or embellishments in any of these retiring colours you will need to act fast as they’re only available while sticks last.

Thanks for stopping by.
