New colour combos – day 12 – Gorgeous Grape

August 22, 2018

Day 12 of our new and returning colour focus, where I’m sharing projects that showcase one of these additions to the Stampin’ Up! colour families and suggesting a possible colour combination.

Today we’re using Gorgeous Grape. This is another brand new colour and it’s a rich purple.

On this card it’s teamed with our existing Pool Party and Pear Pizzazz.

The card base is an A6 portrait of Gorgeous Grape, matted with Pool Party. A card front layer of Whisper White was stamped several times with textured leaves from the Oh So Eclectic set in Pear Pizzazz ink. The large pattern from the co-ordinating Eclectic Layers thinlits was used to die cut shapes from the layer before popping it up on the card front with dimensionals. Using Gorgeous Grape ink the shaded flower from the set was stamped off once before stamping onto two scraps of Whisper White card. The outline flower was stamped over the top with the same ink at full strength and then the flowers die cut out and Dazzling Diamonds glitter added to the centre of each. More Gorgeous Grape ink was used to stamp the semi-closed flower, with Pear Pizzazz ink used to pick out the stem before die cutting out. The flowers were popped up on the card front with dimensionals. Tiny sprigs were die cut from Pool Party card and tucked behind the larger flowers. A sentiment from the Oh So Eclectic set was stamped onto Whisper White card with Gorgeous Grape ink and then die cut out with the outline jewel shape. The detail jewel was die cut from Pool Party card and the lower strands cut away to fully reveal the sentiment when adhered over the stamped version. Both layers were popped up on the card front.

The Whisper White insert was stamped with the small flower pattern along the base with Gorgeous Grape ink, stamping off first each time. Solid leaves were stamped between each flower pattern with Pear Pizzazz ink.

Thanks for stopping by.
