New colour combos – day 13 – Petal Pink

August 23, 2018

Day 13 of our new and returning colour focus, where I’m sharing projects that showcase one of these additions to the Stampin’ Up! colour families and suggesting a possible colour combination.

Our colour today is Petal Pink. This is a brand new colour in the Subtles family and is a gorgeous sea shell pink with just the faintest hint of peach.

I love combining pinks and greys for an elegant look so here it’s teamed with our existing Smoky Slate and Basic Gray.

The card base is an A6 portrait of Basic Gray, matted with Petal Pink. Using Basic Gray ink the large frond and a section of a sentiment from Tropical Chic were stamped onto a card front layer of Whisper White. The flower from the same set was inked with Petal Pink and the stamens coloured direct to stamp with a Basic Gray marker before huffing and stamping direct onto the card front. The flower was inked and stamped in the same way twice onto scraps of Whisper White and the flowers were die cut out with the matching Tropical thinlits. After matting the stamped layer onto Smoky Slate card, Petal Pink ribbon from the Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack was wrapped around and secured. Sliver strips of Basic Gray and Smoky Slate card were adhered above and below the ribbon before adhering the layers direct to the card front. A large leaf from the Tropical Chic set was inked with Smoky Slate and then Basic Gray ink was sponged around the edges with a Dauber before die cutting out. The frond leaf was also die cut out of Basic Gray card and adhered direct to the card front. Mini dimensionals were used to pop up the large leaf and the flowers on the card front. Some Irredescent Sequins were adhered direct to the card front to finish.

On the Whisper White insert, a border was created by inking and stamping the flower as for the front and stamping it partially along the right edge. Smoky Slate ink was used to partially stamp the medium leaf in between the flowers.

Thanks for stopping by.
