New colour combos – day 16 – Gray Granite

August 26, 2018

Day 16 of our new and returning colour focus, where I’m sharing projects that showcase one of these additions to the Stampin’ Up! colour families and suggesting a possible colour combination.

Today’s colour is Gray Granite. This is a brand new colour and is just a little warmer than grey, it’s kind of part way between Smoky Slate and Crumb Cake.

My combination is taken from one of the new paper packs, Joyous Noel, in the upcoming Autumn/Winter catalogue, launching 5 September. Gray Granite is teamed with Merry Merlot and metallic Copper.

Most of the elements on this card are sneak peeks from the new catty.

The card base is an A6 portrait of Gray Granite. A layer of Joyous Noel Specialty DSP (sneak peek) was matted onto Merry Merlot card and Merry Merlot & Copper Reversible Ribbon (sneak peek) was wrapped and secured around the layers with the Copper colour showing, then more ribbon was tied on, also with the Copper side showing. The layers were adhered direct to the card front. A sentiment from the Dashing Deer set (sneak peek) was stamped onto Whisper White card using Versamark ink and heat embossed with Copper EP. This was then die cut out with a die from the Petals and More die set and popped up onto the card front with dimensionals. A leaping stag was die cut from Joyous Noel Glimmer Paper (sneak peek) with a Detailed Deer thinlit die (sneak peek). A solid flower and an outline flower from the same die set were cut from Merry Merlot card and Joyous Noel Glimmer Paper respectively, adhered together and then to the sentiment strip.

On the Whisper White insert, a sentiment from the Merry Christmas to All (sneak peek) was stamped with Gray Granite ink. A border stamp from the Dashing Deer set was inked with Gray Granite and then the flowers reinked with a Merry Merlot marker before stamping beneath the sentiment. Two small deer were stamped at the base of the insert using Gray Granite ink that had been stamped off first.

Thanks for stopping by.

Enjoy your long weekend.

Sara xx
