Dashing Deer Christmas card – sneak peek

August 27, 2018

Happy bank holiday! I hope you have a restful and crafty day 🙂

Our Autumn/Winter catalogue launches on 5 September. I’ve already shared the  odd sneak peek here and there, through the colour combination samples this last week but now I’m going to ramp it up a little more to show you what’s on the way.

The DSP used is a very limited edition that will only be available to workshop hostesses 1-30 September. Of course you don’t necessarily need to have an in-person workshop to qualify (though I’d love to come along and demonstrate projects face to face if we can arrange it), you could have an online workshop with me or if you simply have a large order then that may qualify too. Please email me if you’d like to know more.

The colour combo here is Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla.

The card base is an A6 portrait of Crumb Cake. A layer of Dashing Along DSP (hostess only sneak peek) was matted onto Very Vanilla card and then thinlits from the Detailed Deer die set were used to cut through both layers in the corners for a decorative element. The card front layers were wrapped with Striped Burlap Trim and adhered direct to the card front and two segments that were originally die cut away, were repositioned and adhered inside the cutwork corner elements. Using Crumb Cake ink, the decorative deer from the Darling Deer set was stamped onto Very Vanilla card and die cut out with the matching die (sooo much easier than fussing cutting). This was then popped up on the card front with dimensionals.

I made a boo-boo! Did you spot it? There’s an extra layer on that card front! I adhered the card layers onto my card front with the card upside down – yes I still make that mistake after all these years – and I actually made the same mistake twice on this card! So I trimmed off the card back, trimmed the layers down slightly and then stuck them (the right way up) onto another card base.

On the Very Vanilla insert, a sentiment from the set was stamped with Cherry Cobbler ink. Crumb Cake ink was used to add a small stag in the lower right corner.

The Darling Deer stamp set and the Detailed Deer thinlit set will be available as a bundle saving you 10%.

Hope that you’re enjoying these sneak peeks. If you don’t already have a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator and you’d like a paper copy of the Autumn/Winter catalogue posting to you then please email me to request one.

Thanks for stopping by.

Enjoy the rest of your bank holiday.

Sara xx
