Cross-stitched Christmas in purples

September 6, 2018

I’m back to the Cross-stitched Christmas today. Last week I used it with some traditional colours of greens and red but over the next few days I’ll show how the same stamps can work with more contemporary colours too.

For today’s version using purples, the basic card has been kept very simple, to focus on the cross stitch design.

The combo here is Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather and metallic Gold.

The card base is an A6 portrait of Highland Heather. Trees from the Cross-Stitched Christmas set were stamped onto a panel of Whisper White using Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather inks. Versamark ink was used to stamp the “least stitched” design of tree (which I take to be baubles) and to add the star to the top of the tree and then it was heat embossed with Gold EP. A large Layering Oval was die cut from a card front layer of Gorgeous Grape card and the stamped panel was added behind the oval separated by dimensionals before adding to the card front. More Layering Ovals were used to die cut a frame from Gold Foil which was adhered direct. Gorgeous Grape ink was used to stamp a sentiment from the set onto a strip of Whisper White card which was matted onto Gold Foil and popped up on the card front with more dimensionals.

On the Whisper White insert, another sentiment from the set was stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink.

Tomorrow we’ll step it up slightly, using a different contemporary colour combo.

Thanks for stopping by.
