Painted Glass birthday card

October 9, 2018

Today’s card uses the Painted Glass bundle. The gothic style script works so well with the stained glass effect.

I was taking so much care to get the placement of the second rectangle die just right, that I didn’t notice that that the first section was overhanging the plate when I ran it through the Big Shot the second time and so I got a slight crease mark. To hide it, I ran the whole layer through an embossing folder – it totally hides the original crease 🙂

The colour combo is taken from the Garden Impressions DSP and is Night of Navy, So Saffron and Mango Melody.

The card base is an A6 portrait of Night of Navy. A card front layer of So Saffron was die cut twice with the smaller rectangle design of the Stained Glass thinlits then run through the Big Shot with the Petal Burst embossing folder before adhering direct the card front. The die cut panels were adhered back in place. A strip of Garden Impressions DSP was matted onto Mango Melody card and then adhered direct to the left side of the card front. Using Stazon Black ink, the butterfly from the Painted Glass stamp set was stamped onto Whisper White card, coloured with Night of Navy, So Saffron and Mango Melody markers, die cut out with the matching Stained Glass thinlit and popped up on the card front with a dimensional. A sentiment from the same set was stamped onto Mango Melody card with Stazon Black ink, punched out with the Tailored Tag and popped up on the card front with dimensionals.

On the Whisper White insert, another sentiment from the set was stamped using Stazon Black ink and then two more butterflies were stamped with Mango Melody ink.

Thanks for stopping by.
