Shimmering Perennial Birthday card

October 20, 2018

Yesterday I shared a technique for creating your own shimmer spray and if you look back here you’ll see that the blotchy card layer I created did dry out evenly as promised and I’ve used it for this birthday card.

The colour combo is a variation of a masculine Christmas colour combo I’ve used here and here but this time I’ve switched Merry Merlot for Cherry Cobbler and used it for a feminine birthday card to show how different it can look.

The full colour combo is Cherry Cobbler, Tranquil Tide and Metallic Copper.

The card base is an A6 portrait of Cherry Cobbler. A card front layer of Cherry Cobbler was spritzed with Bright Copper Shimmer Spray (see here for the technique) and run through the Big Shot with the Subtle embossing folder. Merry Merlot & Copper Reversible Ribbon was wrapped around the layer before adhering it direct to the card front and a bow of the same ribbon was attached above with Glue Dots. A sentiment and flower from Perennial Birthday were stamped onto Very Vanilla card with Versamark ink, heat embossed with Copper EP and then coloured with Cherry Cobbler and Tranquil Tide markers. The stamped images were die cut with Layering Ovals, matted onto Tranquil Tide card die cut with another Oval from the same set and then matted onto Copper Foil die cut with the Stitched Shapes framelits. Dimensionals were used to pop the ovals up on the card front.

On the Very Vanilla insert, more sentiments and images from the Perennial Birthday set were stamped with Cherry Cobbler ink.

Here’s a close up of the shimmery embossed layer. It’s subtle but pretty.

Hope you’re having a great weekend. I’m off now to my graduation ceremony to collect my degree in Acupuncture! 🙂

Thanks for stopping by.
