This Santa Mini Curvy Keepsake box was one of the make and takes for our Paper Dolls Inspiration Meeting last week. The theme of our meeting was mixing new products, with those that we already have in our stash. This project combines the brand new Red Velvet Paper (I definitely love stroking this paper, lol) with the Mini Curvy Keepsake Box dies.
Our next Paper Dolls Inspiration Meeting is on Tuesday 8 September if you’d like to join us.
The Paper in the catalogue is labelled simply “red” rather than a specific Stampin’ Up! colour but I found it matches Real Red very well.
COLOUR COMBO
This colour combo mixes Real Red, Basic Black and Metallic Gold.
INSTRUCTIONS
Die cut a Mini Curvy Keepsakes Box from Red Velvet Paper. For my box I cut a small square of Brushed Metallic Gold. Then I die cut slots in the square with dies from the Hippo & Friends set. What would have been quicker and easier if I’d realised at the time would have been to die cut a buckle from the Foil with the All Dressed Up dies. Thread a skinny strip of Basic Black card through the buckle before adhering it to the front of the box (one of the panels with the rounded handle at the top). I recommend Tear & Tape for this.
Die cut a small square label from a scrap of Whisper White card using a die from the same Mini Curvy Keepsakes Box set. Using Real Red ink, stamp the outline candy canes from the Warm Hugs set onto the label. Stamp over the top of the canes with the stripes, using the same ink. Tie the label onto the box with ribbon from the Playful Pets Trim Combo Pack.
Thanks for stopping by.
