Tutorial for gnome shaker card

October 17, 2020

My tutorial for you today is a gnome shaker card. It’s another project featuring the Gnome for the Holidays stamp set that was my Product Pick of the Week this week.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the gnome shaker card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

The frame for our gnome this time uses the Snowflake Splendor DSP, which is another one of the packs that has a 15% discount this month.

Start with an A6 landscape card of Coastal Cabana. Using Memento Black ink stamp the gnome with a jingle bell hat, onto a card front layer of Whisper White. Colour with Blends and adhere direct to the card front. Cut a card front layer from Snowflake Splendor DSP and die cut the stretched hexagon form the centre using the So Many Snowflakes dies. Adhere Window Sheet behind the aperture. Using Foam Adhesive Strips, completely surround the acetate covered aperture so that no shaker bits will fall through. Add more Foam Adhesive Strips around the edges of the card front layer to fully support it. Sprinkle Snowflake Sequins over the gnome on the front of the card. Remove the backing from the Foam Adhesive Strips and add the layers to the card front.

Stamp a sentiment from the Gnome for the Holidays set onto a skinny strip of Coastal Cabana card with Versamark ink and heat emboss with White EP. Mat onto a thin strip of Smoky Slate card and adhere at the top of the shaker window. Using the So Many Snowflakes dies, die cut snowflakes from scraps of Coastal Cabana, Whisper White and Smoky Slate card. Adhere the snowflakes to the card front and finish the centres with Basic Rhinestones.

On the Whisper White insert, stamp two sentiments and an image from Gnome for the Holidays, using Coastal Cabana ink. Use a Blender Pen to colour in the lady gnome with more Coastal Cabana ink.

Thanks for stopping by.
