Tutorial for Winter Snow shaker card

December 2, 2020

Today I’m sharing a tutorial for a Winter Snow shaker card. This was one of the make and take projects at our November Paper Dolls meeting.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the Winter Snow shaker card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own.

This is very similar to a shaker card I made before, but this time I’ve used the debossed Whisper White layer instead of DSP and used a purple colour combo.

Start with an A6 portrait card of Highland Heather. Using Memento Black ink, stamp the gnome with a jingle bell hat from the Gnome for the Holidays set, onto a card front layer of Whisper White. Colour with Blends and adhere direct to the card front. Cut a card front layer from Whisper White card and die cut the stretched hexagon from the centre using the So Many Snowflakes dies. Run through the Winter Snow embossing folder. Adhere Window Sheet behind the aperture. Using Foam Adhesive Strips, completely surround the acetate covered aperture so that no shaker bits will fall through. Add more Foam Adhesive Strips around the edges of the card front layer to fully support it. Sprinkle Snowflake Sequins over the gnome on the front of the card. Remove the backing from the Foam Adhesive Strips and add the layers to the card front.

Using the So Many Snowflakes dies, die cut snowflakes from scraps of Highland Heather and Purple Posy card. Adhere the snowflakes to the card front and finish the centres with Basic Rhinestones.

On the Whisper White insert, using Highland Heather ink, stamp another sentiment and the lady gnome from the Gnome for the Holidays set.

At our team meetings I often have one card ready prepared and one that I demonstrate on the night. Sometimes they’re the same and sometimes I show an alternative sentiment or stamped image.

This was an alternative version using Snowman Season.
