Today’s tutorial shows how to put together a stepped up photo card with the Joy of Sharing kit. This kicks the simple photo card up a notch. I’ve used Layering Circle dies for my card but you can use any layering dies or punches that you have in your stash.

In the tutorial below, I take you step by step through creating the Joy of Sharing kit stepped up photo card. I also have a supply list for purchasing anything you don’t already own. The only items we’ve added to the kit are the dies, Real Red ink and Real Red Sheer Ribbon.

A photo card such as this is a great way to use those photos that didn’t quite work out. The sort where people are looking in opposite directions for example. I die cut the picture of me, from one where my hubby was looking down at the dog. The picture of my hubby was taken from a photo where I didn’t like the pic of me.

Colour Combo

We’re still working with the same colour combo mixing Mossy Meadow, Real Red and Metallic Gold.

Joy of Sharing kit stepped up photo card tutorial

Start with one of the Mossy Meadow coloured card blanks from the kit and add one of the gold frames. Using Layering Circles, die cut your photos. Take the next largest Layering Circle and die cut mats for each photo from the “waste” that you pressed out of the gold frame. Adhere the photos direct to the mats and pop them up on the card front with dimensionals. Tie tiny bows of Real Red Sheer Ribbon and add one above each photo with a Mini Glue Dot. Using Real Red ink, stamp the sentiment from kit onto one of the thin labels. Adhere one of the red banners behind it and pop it up on the card front with dimensionals. Finish with some of the gold dots from the kit.

Using the Mossy Meadow inkspot, stamp another sentiment from the kit and the small pine branch to opposite corners. Add berries to each pine branch using Real Red ink.
